Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspects In Enugu, Recovers Exhibits

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command, have arrested two male suspects, Chime Valentine Chidiebere (aged 25) and Alior Jideofor Kenechukwu (aged 30), for alleged armed robbery.

The operatives, on February 6, 2025, acted on credible intelligence and arrested the suspects, recovering a Daylong motorcycle they had snatched from their victim, three locally fabricated guns with two live cartridges.

A preliminary investigation revealed that on January 5, 2025, the suspects boarded a commercial motorcycle from Okwojo Ngwo to Amokwe Ngwo, both in Udi LGA. Along the way, they stopped, shot the rider in the left thigh, and fled with the motorcycle.

However, the police operatives, leveraging intelligence, located and arrested the suspects, recovering the stolen motorcycle, firearms, and the ammunition.

The victim is currently recuperating from the gunshot injury. Further investigative actions are ongoing to arrest the suspects’ accomplices who are still at large, and upon conclusion of investigations, they will be arraigned in court.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu,  has urged residents to continue to be law-abiding, vigilant, and support the police by providing credible and actionable information.

He emphasises that the support will immensely aid the police to sustain the tempo on combating and ridding Enugu State of unrepentant criminals and their activities.
