The Gombe State Police Command had recovered the lifeless body of a boy near ‘Harin Kwarin Misau’ in the Gombe metropolis, following a heavy rainfall recorded on the evening of Sunday, 29 June, 2025, reportsBusinessTodayNG
The Gombe State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, who confirmed the development through a statement issued to newsmen, said the lifeless body of the young boy who was approximately 15 years old was found lying at a gully erosion site near the ‘Hayin Kwarin Misau’ quarters.
According to Abdullahi, the Officer-in-Charge of ‘Hayin Kwari Misau’ outstation reported that the boy was suspected to have drowned as a result of the heavy rainfall that occurred Sunday night.
“Preliminary examination of the body revealed no signs of injury or violence. No means of identification was found on the deceased. Photographs of the scene were taken, and the body was carefully evacuated to the Specialist Hospital Gombe, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead,” he said.
The state police image-maker added that efforts are currently ongoing to ascertain the identity of the deceased and trace his relatives, adding that further developments will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
He, therefore, called on members of the public who may have any information that could assist in identifying the deceased or reaching his family to kindly come forward or contact the nearest police station.
