The Police Service Commission (PSC) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have extended the application deadline for the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables by two weeks. The portal, which opened on 15 December 2025, will now close on 8 February 2026.

The extension follows the receipt of over 400,000 applications and a review highlighting uneven participation across states. While states like Adamawa, Benue, and Kaduna recorded high numbers of applicants, Lagos, Ogun, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, and Anambra reported relatively low submissions.

The PSC said the deadline extension is aimed at ensuring equitable representation from all states. Eligible Nigerians, particularly from states with lower application numbers, are strongly encouraged to apply via the official portal: npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.

State governments, local councils, sociocultural and religious organizations, community leaders, and other stakeholders are urged to mobilize eligible citizens to take advantage of the extension.

The PSC and NPF reiterated their commitment to a transparent and fair recruitment process.
