  1. BY NKECHI NAECHE- ESEZOBOR–Regency Alliance Insurance Plc has unveiled its new state- of – the art head office in Lagos.

The event, held at the company’s new ultra-modern building located at 2 Ebun Street, Gbagada Expressway, Gbagada, in the heart of Lagos, was a celebration of growth and ambition for the Nigerian insurance sector.

Among the distinguished guests present were former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Babagana Kingibe, who was the Chairman of the occasion; Senator Ibikunle Amosun; former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel; and first-class traditional chieftains.

Also present were key representatives from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), as well as CEOs of insurance companies and brokers.

Speaking at the event, the  Commissioner for Insurance, NAICOM, Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, commended the tireless efforts of the board and management of Regency Alliance in bringing the project to fruition.

Omosehin, represented by Mr. Abel Omokade, an Assistant Director from NAICOM Lagos office, emphasized that the new headquarters signifies a significant milestone in Regency Alliance’s ongoing journey, reflecting their commitment to enhancing service delivery for both the insuring public and industry stakeholders.

In his remarks, Gbenga Daniel praised the company’s achievement, saying, “For a company to invest in a structure of this magnitude speaks volumes about its vision and commitment. Congratulations to the entire team.”

Prince Babatunde Oguntade, President of NCRIB, also shared his congratulations, expressing satisfaction with Regency Alliance’s growth and assuring continued support from brokers in the industry.

The President of CIIN, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, lauded the company’s efforts, noting that the headquarters is situated in a prime location within Lagos, and serves as a proud symbol for the entire insurance sector.

She highlighted Regency Alliance’s success in driving insurance awareness across West Africa, particularly with their involvement in the ECOWAS Brown Card initiative.

Ilori urged investors to recognize the potential of the insurance industry, which, she said, has proven its reliability in paying claims and offers a robust opportunity for investment—especially as the sector moves forward with recapitalization efforts, like the banking industry.

Amosun acknowledged the longevity and pedigree of Regency Alliance, crediting the company’s management for their resilience and forward-thinking approach.

He expressed confidence that, like the banking sector, insurance has the potential to become a major economic driver for Nigeria.

The Founder and former Group Managing Director of Regency Alliance Insurance, Mr. Biyi Otegbeye, extended his gratitude to all the dignitaries, clients, management, staff, and stakeholders, affirming the company’s commitment to continued growth and success.

This landmark event reflects Regency Alliance Insurance’s vision of a bright future for the Nigerian insurance industry, setting the stage for further expansion and innovation in the sector.
