BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR— A truck fell on a commercial bus between Costain and Ojuelegba, Lagos State, on Sunday, claiming nine lives, seven adults and two children.
According to Federal Road Safety Corps. the incident occurred at 01:45 pm at Costain – Ojelegba involving two Vehicles, a MACK( 40fr container) Veh Reg: KJA 380 XD
and a commuter bus Veh. Reg: KTU 921 YD with passengers.
The statement added that the crash occurred as a result of wrongful overtaking and lost of control by the driver of the properly latched containerised truck.
FRSC Personnel and other rescue agencies have cordoned off the area and well as the bridge while LRU is almost done with lifting the fallen truck off the Mini bus.
At the time of filling this report number of people involved have raise to 13, nine female Male, four Female.
The statement added that “number of male involved are right adults, one Child while the female comprises three adult and one Child. While two of the passengers were injured and one female adult was rescued alive from the wrecked mini bus.
It added that the driver of the fallen container was arrested and taken to Area C police Command.
