The Nigerian Senate has today approved the Interim report of the Ad-hoc Committee on Promissory Note Programme and a Bond issuance to settle inherited local debts and contractual obligations

It will be recalled that the request was submitted in early May 2018 by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Senate and the upper house eventually resolved to set up an Ad-hoc Committee to look critically into the promissory note and bond issuance programme and advice the senate appropriately.

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, joined other senate members to commend the committee for their interim report on the refund to states, this is a step in the right direction.
