All is set for the 2025 BusinessToday Annual Conference/ Exhibition with the theme: “Banking On The Future: Youths, Pension & Insurance Penetration,” slated for tomorrow at the Ballroom of Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.
The conference will be chaired by Dr. Olufemi Oyetunji, Chairman, Sanlam Life Insurance Nigeria Limited while the keynote Speaker is MD/CEO, Marble Capital Limited & 2nd Vice President, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Dr. Akeem Oyewale
The Commissioner for Insurance, National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin and Director-General, National Pension Commission (PenCom), Omolola Oloworaran, are special guest of honour.
The two agencies will lead other professionals to the conference to discuss burning issues in the insurance and pension sectors.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, the Convener, Mrs. Nkechi Naeche-Esezobor said, the insurance and pension industry can deepen penetration starting with them embracing online and mobile channels for easier offerings of their products and services.
She noted that Nigerian youths are embracing technology, with initiatives like tech hubs, startups, and digital skills training programs empowering them to become innovators and change-makers in the digital economy, driving progress and socioeconomic development.
She explained further that Nigeria has one of the highest youth populations in the world, with 1.6 billion young people, accounting for 70 per cent of the country’s population. This ever-growing youth population presents a unique opportunity for both sectors growth and development if properly harnessed to tell the story of pension and insurance in a more positive way.
The conference, which is in its 9th will feature Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, Managing Director/CEO, REX Insurance Limited; Oguche Agudah, CEO, Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp); Sephen Alangbo, Group Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Cornerstone Insurance Plc; Iremide Olatunji, Data @nalytics Elites Global Ltd; Olamide Olajolo, Managing Director/CEO, Coronation Insurance Plc and Oyelere Oluwaseun Isaac, Linkage Assurance Plc, Country Director (Nigeria) African Association of Young Insurance Professionals, have all been listed as panelists for the conference.
