The schedule was disclosed in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa, on Sunday.

According to the party, the timetable complies with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, the Electoral Act 2026, and the official election schedule released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Primaries for State Houses of Assembly and governorship positions are scheduled for May 27, 2026, while those for National Assembly and presidential candidates will hold on May 29, 2026.

The sale of nomination forms is set to run from May 6 to May 16, while submission of completed forms will take place between May 17 and May 18.

Screening of aspirants for state-level positions will be conducted on May 20, while those seeking federal offices, including the presidency, will be screened on May 22.

The party said results of the screening will be released on May 23, followed by appeals on May 24 for state aspirants and May 25 for federal contenders.

A final list of cleared aspirants will be published on May 26 ahead of the primaries.

The party also released the cost of forms, with fees ranging from ₦3 million for House of Assembly aspirants to ₦50 million for presidential hopefuls, while noting that Alex Otti will receive his forms free of charge.

BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—The All Progressives Congress (APC) Council of Elders in Jigawa State has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and ₦50 million for Governor Umar Namadi.

The party also purchased nomination documents worth ₦100 million for Tinubu and ₦50 million for Governor Namadi, formally backing both leaders as the party’s preferred contenders for the 2027 presidential and gubernatorial races.

The party has fixed its presidential primary for May 15–16, 2026, as part of early preparations for the next general polls. The timetable outlines procedures for selecting candidates for various elective positions.

According to the guidelines, presidential aspirants will pay ₦100 million for nomination and expression of interest forms, while governorship hopefuls are required to pay ₦50 million.

The announcement was made in Dutse by the committee chairman and Jigawa APC leader, Ahmed Garba, after a strategic meeting with Governor Namadi.

He said the endorsement followed extensive consultations with stakeholders, elders, and political leaders across the state aimed at strengthening unity and continuity in governance.

The APC Elders Council in Jigawa also agreed to adopt a consensus approach for its 2027 primaries to reduce internal disputes and maintain party stability.

The endorsement reflects strong support for President Tinubu at the national level and Governor Namadi at the state level, particularly over their performance in key sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, education, and economic reforms.

Party leaders expressed confidence that the decision would boost cohesion within the APC and strengthen its chances of electoral success in both the state and nationally in 2027.
