Team Brazil finished off as the winners of the maiden E1 Lagos GP on Sunday, clinching their first win of the series in the process.
Powerboat pilot Timmy Hansen proved decisive again, as he led the team through the group races, race off and to the final.
They beat Team Blue Rising to second place while Team Drogba finished third.
Team Brazil got 38 points for their win, taking their tally up to 89 points. However, they are still far off from the title before the final race of the season next month.
The E1 is an all-electric powerboat race which began last year in Jeddah, and Lagos becomes the first city in Africa to host it.
The E1 Lagos GP is also the penultimate race of the season, setting the tone for the championship battle ahead of the season finale in Miami next month.
The E1 World Championship, often described as the “Formula One of the seas,” is the world’s first all-electric powerboat racing series, designed to combine cutting-edge technology, environmental sustainability, and high-speed entertainment on water.
The series was co-founded by Alejandro Agag, the visionary behind Formula E and Extreme E, and Rodi Basso, a former Formula One engineer, with the aim of promoting cleaner, greener marine transport through sport.
