Tech Startup Hosts 3-Day Data Analytic Bootcamp for Students Of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture

Hankali Intel, a fast-growing Data as a Service (DaaS) and EdTech Company in Nigeria,  recently held a 3-Day Data Analytics Bootcamp for students of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.

The bootcamp, which took place from November 29th to December 1st, 2023, equipped over 100 undergraduates with essential skills in data analytics and robotics. 

Founded in 2021 by industry professionals Mgbame Michael (CEO) and Chibuzor Okafor (COO), Hankali Intel leverages a modern data analytics tech stack to help organizations derive value from data. The company is also dedicated to building and training a community of data enthusiasts through customized data proficiency tracks, utilizing an AI-trained chatbot in engagement sessions.

The 3-Day Data Analytics Bootcamp, hosted in collaboration with the Department of Statistics at the College of Physical and Applied Sciences, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, witnessed the active participation of over 100 students. The 3-day training featured a diverse range of sessions, including Understanding the Modern Data Tech Stack Architecture, Business KPIs for SMEs and MSMEs, Introduction to Power BI, Google Sheets, and Data Scraping. A practical session on Power BI, a project work, and a plenary session for data professionals were also highlights of the program.

The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests; including the Vice Chancellor, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Prof. M.O. Iwe, FNIFST, CFS, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Udo Herbert. Other dignitaries present were the Dean of the College of Physical and Applied Sciences, Prof. D.A Asiegbu, the H.O.D of the Department of Statistics, Dr. D. F. Adiele, and Dr. C.K. Acha (Asso. Prof Statistics), along with other representatives of the school’s management.

One of the notable outcomes of the bootcamp was the identification of four outstanding students whose projects using Power BI for the first time earned them scholarships to participate in the Hankali Data Senior training track. This intensive 3-month program will not only enhance their data competencies but also provide access to mentors from different nations, guiding them as they transition into their new career paths.
