Famous Nigerian singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, better known as Terry G has finally break his silence over allegations that he hijacked the hit song Pass Me Your Love from his colleague and collaborator, AY.Com.
Recall that the singer faced deluge of criticism for performing the track, which featured him as a guest artist, at his shows in years past.
Critics accused the singer of appropriating the song from AY.Com by frequently performing it at events.
Terry G, while addressing the longstanding allegations via his X handle recently, described the claims as “pure ignorance,” asserting that he has every right to perform a song on which he was a featured artist.
He alleged that the controversy surrounding the supposed hijacking contributed to the decline of AY.Com’s career.
“To those saying I stole ‘Pass Me Your Love’ from Ay.com— that’s pure ignorance. So I don’t have the right to perform a song I collaborated on? Your favourite artists do it all the time, but when it’s me, it becomes a problem. Hypocrisy at its finest.
“And no, I didn’t put the song on my album — it was never about ownership, it was about collaboration.
“Some of you ruined AY’s moment with your noise, not me. As for my shine, nobody can block it. You no reach.” Terry G wrote.
