Unitrust Insurance Celebrates 2025 Growth, Honours Staff At End-of-Year Party

BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—Unitrust Insurance Limited has celebrated its end-of-year party and staff awards ceremony in recognition of the dedication and commitment of its employees throughout 2025.

Speaking at the event held at the weekend in Lagos, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Adedayo Arowojolu, described 2025 as a remarkable year for the underwriting firm.

According to him, the company recorded a clean operational year with no issues involving customers, regulators, or government agencies. “I am humbled to say that this year we had no issues with any customer, no problems with any regulator, and no disputes with any government agency. We remain grateful to God, whose mercies endure forever,” he said.

On the company’s financial performance, Arowojolu disclosed that as of December 2025, Unitrust recorded a gross premium income  in excess of ₦27 billion, a significant increase from the ₦14 billion achieved in 2024. He attributed the growth to divine grace and the unwavering commitment of the staff.

He assured staff and customers that the company is working diligently to meet the July 2026 recapitalisation deadline set by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM). He also expressed appreciation to customers, shareholders, and other stakeholders for their continued support, noting that Unitrust currently serves over 12,000 policyholders.

“God has been good to us, and His mercies endure forever. Without any doubt, 2025 has been a remarkable year for Unitrust, and we give all thanks to the Almighty God. I once again express my appreciation to the entire staff seated here today, our Board of Directors who are deeply committed to the company’s growth and performance, all our stakeholders, and most especially our customers,” he said.

Arowojolu further acknowledged some key customers who have contributed significantly to the company’s growth, including ITV, Stanbic IBTC Health Insurance Brokers, Superfoods, and others.

“Without the support of our customers and partners, we would not be where we are today. In the interest of time, I encourage everyone to look out for the second edition of our HR newsletter, where I provided a detailed report on our 2025 performance,” he added.

He explained that the end-of-year celebration was organised to appreciate collective achievements and to energise staff for the challenges ahead in 2026.

“Today’s end-of-year party is to celebrate our success together and energise ourselves for the task ahead in 2026. I wish you all a fulfilled evening,” he said.

The event also featured the presentation of awards to staff in various categories in recognition of their dedication and contributions to the growth of the company.
