BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—Unitrust Insurance Company Limited has achieved a major milestone in operational excellence, securing two internationally recognized certifications: ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for Information Security Management Systems and ISO 22301:2019 for Business Continuity Management Systems.
The certifications, issued by MSECB, affirm that Unitrust’s management systems meet global best practices for safeguarding client data and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery across its operations.
Initially granted on February 28, 2024, the newly renewed ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification re-confirms that Unitrust effectively protects its critical operations. This includes its IT infrastructure, cloud data centers, disaster recovery systems, and core business processes against evolving cyber threats.
Additionally, the recently awarded ISO 22301:2019 certification validates the robustness of Unitrust’s Business Continuity Management System. This framework ensures the organization can anticipate, respond to, and rapidly recover from operational disruptions while maintaining seamless service for its policyholders.
These certifications are a testament to our unwavering commitment to protecting our customers’ data, strengthening operational resilience, and delivering reliable insurance services even in the face of disruptions,” said Adedayo A. Arowojolu, Managing Director of Unitrust Insurance. “At Unitrust, we are not just insuring risks—we are building trust through global standards and best practices.
With these achievements, Unitrust Insurance joins a select group of forward-thinking Nigerian organizations compliant with international frameworks for both data security and business continuity.
