Q3: PenCom Issues 4,756 Organizations With Compliance Certificates

BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR--The National Pension Commission (PenCom) said it received 4,756 applications from private sector organizations for the issuance of Pension Clearance Certificates (PCCs) during the third quarter of 2022.

This is contained in the commission’s third quarter report for 2022 posted on it’s official website that 4,756 organizations were all issued PCC had remitted a total sum of ₦25,552,103 billion into the Retirement Savings Accounts (RSAs) of their employees, totalling 57,687.

The commission commenced the issuance of PCC to organisations in 2012. The PCC is evidence of compliance with the PRA 2014 and a prerequisite for all suppliers, contractors, or consultants, soliciting any contract or business from Federal Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). 


Therefore, PenCom issues PCCs to organisations that apply and have fully complied with the set requirements.

The commission also disclosed that during the quarter under review, the Commission granted approval for the refund of N1,147,395 million to 11 personnel of the Military and other Security Agencies who were exempted from the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).


The commission also provided update on N2 billion monthly commitment by the Lagos State Government in December 2021 to clear outstanding Accrued Rights of Retirees.


According to the report, the State Government paid ₦1.5 billion and ₦1.11 billion for the
months of July and August 2022, respectively, bringing the cumulative payment so far made by the State to ₦9.33 billion for the period December 2021 to August 2022.
