At least 529 students of the Federal University of Transportation, Daura were matriculated on Saturday, 16 August, 2025, just as the Federal Government promised to produce world best graduates especially in the transportation sector.
The Minister of transportation, Sen. Said Ahmed Alkali , stated this during the 2nd matriculation ceremony of the University in Daura, Katsina State on Saturday, 16 August, 2025.
The minister said the present administration hoped to produce graduates of highest quality who can compete favorably with other graduates all over the world.
“It is our hope and aspirations to produce graduates of the highest quality who can compete favorably with other graduates all over the world. I am assuring you all that, we will deliver on our mandates to disseminate specialised knowledge in all modes of transportation to produce Nigerian experts that will utilise policy, law and industry practice to make the transport sector the pride of Nigerian economy.
“l am indeed grateful to God Almighty for sphering our lives to be part of this historic event which is the second matriculation ceremony of this young but fast-growing University. I wish to also register my sincere appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his continued support to Federal University of Transportation Daura in particular and Nigeria’s education sector in general.”
He conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s congratulations to the University Governing Council, Senate Management, Staff and the Matriculating students who have been offered admission into various programmes of the University.
“I want to inform you that the President is very proud of this University and the rapid progress it is making. The Matriculating students should therefore count themselves lucky to be in the only specialised University of Transportation which is the first of its kind in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. You should take advantage of this opportunity to be serious so that you will one day become the pride of the University, your parents and the country at large, ” Alkali said
