Governor Ademola Adeleke has proscribed the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Osun State following the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir. Oyeyemi was shot dead on Sunday in Ile-Ife by suspected hoodlums during a clash over control of a garage in the ancient city.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor directed the Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest all those involved in the killing and ensure they are brought to book.

Adeleke also ordered the immediate vacation of all motor parks by warring factions and directed security agencies to restore normalcy and enforce law and order across parks in the state.

As part of measures to prevent further violence, the governor announced the reintroduction of a Park Management System across Osun State, and is set to issue an Executive Order to give the new system legal backing.
