BY NKECHI NAECHE–ESEZOBOR–The FCT Police Command on Monday said it has successfully rescued 5-year-old girl, Miracle Yakubu, from her alleged abductor, a 46-year-olda, male suspect, Nawaisi Abdullahi.
According to statement posted by SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command, Abuja, on the command’s official X handle that on Sunday, 19th January 2025, at about 10:00 AM, Police ope from Utako Division, in collaboration with local vigilantes, swiftly responded to a distress call involving a man who was seen walking with a little girl minor along the Mobil Filling Station by Jabi Expressway towards an unknown destination.
She said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had taken the child without the consent of her mother, a local vendor selling bean cakes (Akara) in Utako Village.
She noted that upon intervention, the Police immediately took custody of the suspect and ensured the safe return of the child to her family. The suspect is currently in Police custody as further investigations are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances of the incident.
