FG Declares March 19, 20 Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to mark the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government, congratulating Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan and urging Nigerians to use the period to promote peace, unity, and goodwill.

The Minister congratulates Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan and urged them to sustain the virtues of love, generousity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice.

He also called on Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and continued progress in the country.

Tunji-Ojo encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged during the festivities.
