The maiden edition of the Ghana Insurance Expo was held today, 18th July 2019, at the Alisa Hotel, Accra to enable brokers and insurers transact businesses together in one day.

The event saw several insurance companies, life and non-life companies present to participate at this year’s exhibition.

The exhibition comprises of re-insurers, brokerage firms, health insurers, actuarial firms, and other insurance service providers.

Some exhibitors who shared their views with www.ghanaweb.com on the ongoing expo noted that the expo gives more room for a direct interaction between the customers and the company in other to express their concern as well as learn something new.

Some of the companies present at the Ghana Insurance Expo were GLICO Life, Premier Health Insurance, Hollard Life Assurance Ghana Limited, Nationwide Medical Insurance etc.

According to Xodus sales executive, Loretta Obeng, the turnout was encouraging as its been first of its kind to be organized.

She hinted that the expo was conducted as a result of the low penetration of the insurance companies in the country.

“We realized that the penetration of the insurance industry in Ghana is very low, it was recorded at around two percent. Which is very appalling so we decided to come together with the insurance companies to all be under one umbrella and sell the insurance product to the general public and cooperate Ghana.” She said.

The Ghana Insurance Expo was organized by Xodus Communications Limited to bring together several insurance companies to interact, explore new business opportunities and get acquainted with the latest developments in the industry.
