Half Result: Veritas Kapital GPW Dips 44.86%, As Insurer Slips Into N170.4m loss

BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR— Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc has released its unaudited financial statement for the period ended 30 June 2022.

According to the notice released to the Nigerian Exchange group, the group recorded a loss in gross premium written by 44.86% to N2.218 billion from N3.213 billion in 2021.

The notice added that the group also slipped into N170.378 million group loss from N602.239 profit in same period in 2021.

The insurer had in its audited financial statements for year ended December 31, 2020 recorded a growth in its gross premium written to N6.063 billion from N2.954 billion in 2019.

Profit for 2020 grew by 279.28% to N468.107 million from N123.421 million in 2019.
