INEC Chairman Meets Google’s Global Civic Responsibility Lead in Ottawa

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, today 11th September 2026 met with Google Global Lead, Civic Responsibility, David J. Lopez, in Ottawa, Canada.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Global Conference on Responsible AI and Elections, which is bringing together election management bodies, technology experts and other stakeholders to examine the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in electoral processes.

The Chairman was accompanied by the Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Dr. Lawrence Bayode.
