President Bola Tinubu on Friday stated that the economic hardship faced by Nigerians is as to result the pain of a life-saving surgery, insisting that the country’s economy is on the path to recovery.

Tinubu, who stated this while speaking at the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, held at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo State, Tinubu thanked citizens for their resilience and patience since the rollout of his administration’s reforms.
The president’s remarks came after the formal crowning of Oba Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan, a historic ceremony that drew dignitaries from across the South-West and beyond.
“To many of you here present, I am honoured to bring you good news — our economy has turned the corner. There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel,” the president declared. “Your suffering is the pain of a painful surgery, but it is now giving way to a new moment of growth and prosperity that lies ahead. Thank you for your perseverance, your endurance, and your understanding,” the President said.
Tinubu arrived at the venue at exactly 2:28 p.m. in the company of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. Also in his entourage were the governors of Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti States, alongside some members of the Federal Executive Council.
