Kano Fixes ₦8.2m As Final Hajj Fare For 2026 State Pilgrims

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board on Sunday announced ₦8,244,813.67 as the final Hajj fare for the 2026 Hajj.
This latest development is a result of a directive from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria on the 2026 Hajj fare.
The Public Relations Officer of the board, Sulaiman Dederi, who announced the fare through a statement issued to media houses on Sunday, said he Director General of the Board, Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, confirmed that the fare applies to all intending pilgrims from Kano State.
“Those who have already deposited ₦8.5 million will receive a refund of ₦255,186.33 once they submit a written request to the board,” the statement partly read.
Dederi further stated that intending pilgrims making fresh payments are required to pay the full amount of ₦8,244,813.67. He said the deadline for the payment of the fare is 31st December 2025, which is in line with NAHCON’s directive.
The board image –maker in the statement called on all intending pilgrims to ensure they complete their payments before the deadline to secure their Hajj slots.
BusinessTodayNG recalled that Danbappa confirmed the ₦8.4m deposit set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria for 2025 intending pilgrims.
According to him, the board registered at least 3,155 intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj and concluded sales of the state’s allocation of seats.
