Officers of Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested a suspected marijuana dealer and handed him over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation.
The State Commandant, Bala Bawa Bodinfa, who made this disclosure to newsmen at the command headquarters on Friday, said the arrest was part of the corps’ continued efforts to rid Kano of criminal elements.
“On Tuesday, 7th October 2025, at about 02:30 a.m., operatives of the NSCDC, Doguwa Division, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a motorbike rider and arrested one notorious Indian hemp (Wiwi) dealer, Yusuf Alasan, 25, of Doguwa town, along with two other adults, Muktar Musa and Musa Sani, ” Bodinfa said.
According to him, the suspects were caught with three large sacks filled with marijuana, which they were allegedly transporting from Doguwa town to Kafau in Doguwa Local Government Area.
“The arrest was made at Riruwai Gate,” he added.
The State NSCDC boss also explained that preliminary investigations had been completed and that the suspects and exhibits were being handed over to the NDLEA “in the spirit of synergy and collaboration” for further investigation and legal action.
Bodinfa assured that the NSCDC would “continue to ensure the total protection of all critical national assets and infrastructure” and strengthen cooperation with other security agencies to “defeat the evil intentions of criminals wherever they may be in Kano.”
“Thanks greatly for your usual support and cooperation. May God bless you all,” the commandant concluded.
