Matawalle who gave the directive on Friday in Abuja said that the bandits have increased their activities in Kaduna, Katsina, and Zamfara, leading to attacks on personnel and loss of lives and destruction of military hardware.

“The Nigerian military should adopt a more proactive approach in decimating the activities of bandits and in dealing with insecurity in the above mentioned states,” he added.

He called for intensified operations against the criminals as well as increased synergy among the security services to successfully wipe out the insurgents and terrorists in the region.

Matawalle said the Federal Government has placed premium on the safety and well-being of all citizens and will continue to take decisive actions to curb the menace of terrorism and banditry in communities across the country.

“Enhanced security in the region will not only safeguard the lives and properties of our people but also improve the quality of farming and irrigation.
