Md Guinea Insurance, Abidogun Rallies Industry Support As Insurance Week Begins Nationwide

BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—Ademola Ayotunde Abidogun, Managing Director, Guinea Insurance Plc and a member of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) Governing Council has applauded and lend his full support to the bold and timely initiative of the insurance week introduced by the current President of the Institute, Mrs Yetunde Ilori.

He encourage all stakeholders, insurers, practitioners, and the general public, to participate wholeheartedly in the scheduled activities.

According to him a united show of presence and purpose will not only ensure the success of this inaugural outing but also reinforce the value of insurance in shaping a more secure and inclusive future for all Nigerians.

He said “while  significant strides have been made, there is still important work to be done. That is why I am once again offering myself in service, in the 2025 CIIN Governing Council elections, to continue contributing to the growth of our Institute and the strengthening of our industry’s collective voice. Let us move forward — with purpose, with partnership, and #ForwardWithResolve.”

The maiden insurance week was officially announced yesterday by the President and it is scheduled to hold from 27th June to 4th July 2025, across Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, and Kano.

This landmark initiative seeks to deepen public awareness of the role of insurance in everyday life, strengthen industry collaboration, and showcase the profession’s contribution to national development. With the theme, “Insurance for All: Securing Nigeria’s Future”, the week-long event will feature a series of activities designed to reposition the insurance industry as a critical driver of stability and resilience.

Speaking at the official briefing, the President and Chairman of Council,Ilori, highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative, expressing confidence in its capacity to foster trust and engagement among the insuring public.

Echoing this sentiment, the Chairman of the Organising Committee and Past President of the Institute, Mr Eddie Efekoha, affirmed that the programme has been meticulously planned to leave a lasting impression on stakeholders and ignite renewed enthusiasm for the industry
