BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—The armed forces retirement authority, Military Pension Board, has issued an urgent warning advising ex-servicemen and beneficiaries to safeguard private data from scammers attempting to compromise the retirement payout system for illicit profits.

An official release from the agency’s media representative, Wing Commander Aliyu Mohammed, revealed that deceptive operatives are actively soliciting critical credentials, including biometric registration codes, national identity digits, banking profiles, debit card credentials, and other restricted security data.

Retirees must strictly withhold these particulars from unrecognized entities, syndicates, or digital forums lacking explicit sanction from the central retirement administration.

The spokesperson emphasized that the organization never delegates outside brokers to gather personal profiles or transaction coordinates for facilitating advances, monthly stipends, severance packages, or alternative subsidies. Any suspicious inquiries from unverified channels must be rejected and immediately flagged for security enforcement.
