BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR–The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), has donated 150 capacity lecture theatre, “NAICOM Building” to the Kaduna State University.
The Commission’s donation is to propagate insurance education and help the sector deepen insurance reach in tertiary institutions in the country.
This was made possible through the financial assistance of NAICOM under the programme called the Financial Assistance to Tertiary Institutions (FATI).
According to the commission, the project was achieved with the collaboration of NAICOM and the Kaduna State University.
Speaking at the Commissioning the commissioner for Insurance Sunday Thomas, appluded the Ag. Vice Chancellor of Kaduna State University, Prof. Abdullahi Musa Ashafa and urged him not to relent effort in the drive to attract further development to the University.
He said its support to the Kaduna State University was in furtherance of resolve of the management to achieve one of its mandate which is to promote insurance education and other related subjects towards achieving human capital development provided for in Section 19 (c) of the NAICOM Act 1997.
The commission noted that the completion of the 150 capacity lecture theatre will undoubtedly be a value-addition to the Kaduna State University, particularly the students who will use the facility. “It is our firm belief that you will put this infrastructure to good use for the benefit of all stakeholders.”
