Insurance companies are lobbying the government for legislation that would enable the sector to overcome current challenges, expand its frontiers as well as enhance its contributions to the national economy.

The sector as represented by the Nigeria Insurers Association (NIA), recently paid a visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, seeking closer engagement between the association and lawmakers, reported This Day Live.

NIA chairman, Mr Ganiyu Musa, requested lawmakers to remove obstacles militating against the growth of the insurance industry in Nigeria. Additionally, he drew the attention of the Speaker on the need to protect the industry from incursions.
