Nigeria’s Power Grid Partially Restored- Says AEDC

The power outages experienced by Nigerians on Monday evening have been restored in some parts of its franchise areas. This was  confirmed by Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).

According to statement released on its  Twitter handle  that the system collapse occurred at about 6.58pm, while noting that areas such as Deidei, Suleja, Lugbe, Kuje and other areas  had their light restored on Tuesday at about 5:15am.

Customers in the AEDC were told of the disruption in supply, which was attributed to the collapse of the National grid.

”Be rest assured that we are working with relevant stakeholders to restore power as soon the grid stabilises,” it said.

In a similar development, the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) said that the power outages being experienced in the South East zone was due to the general national electricity system collapse.

The Head, Corporate Communications of EEDC, Mr Emeka Ezeh, made the disclosure in a statement  that a general system collapse that occurred at 18:48 hours on Monday.

“This has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across EEDC network,” he said.

“Consequently, due to this development, all our interface Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide services to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States.

“We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo,” he said.
