Pension Fund Assets Grow By N183.81billion To N13.61trn In Jan 2022

BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR–As at January 31, 2022, Nigeria’s pension fund assets reported a growth of N183.81billion to N13.61 trillion, according to National Pension Commission (PenCom).

According to the Commission’s unaudited report on pension funds industry portfolio for the period ended January 31, 2022, this representing 1.37 percent growth.

The commission noted that total number of Retirement Savings Account (RSA) holders stood at 9.55 million as at the end of January.

On how the funds were invested, the Commission said a total of N8.35 trillion of the fund was invested in Federal Government securities; N170.33billion was invested in government securities and N2.28 trillion was put into local money market securities.
