PRESS RELEASE—In their effort to showcase public and private organizations to continuously striving to improve, the Management and editorial board of BusinessToday Online Magazine conferred “The Most Innovative Pension Company of the year 2017” award to Premium Pension Limited at the 5th BusinessToday Anniversary/ Insurance & Pension Industry Awards.

‘’There is need for increased public awareness of the benefits and workings of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) especially as CPS is a clear departure from the Defined Benefit scheme that proved unworkable and brought untold hardship to retirees in the country” said the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Premium Pension Limited Mr. Umar Mairami while reacting to the award won by the company recently.

Mr. Mairami commended the organizers and seized the opportunity to recognize the immense contributions of The National Pension Commission (PenCom) and other stakeholders in the industry in sustaining the integrity of the Contributory Pension Scheme. He also recognized and appreciated the support of the Board of Directors, Management and staff of Premium Pension Limited for making the award possible.

The award ceremony which took place at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos saw the company winning the award for the second time.

The Company was represented at the colorful event by the Executive Director Business Development South & Strategy Mrs. Kemi Oluwashina, who described the award as the reward for commitment, dedication and tenacity of purpose. She said that the award also underlines the solid and fecund relationship between the company and the media in the area of awareness generation on the workings and benefits of the pension industry.

Speaking on the awards, the MD/CEO of BusinessToday Online, Ms. Nkechi Naeche said the award which is in its fifth edition seeks out exceptional individuals, companies and states that have been outstanding in advancing the insurance and pension industries within a particular year.

She added that Premium Pension Limited won the 2017 awards following its efficient services to Nigerian retirees and their families, adding that the company provides impressive range of Pension products and services to its client base across the length and breadth of the country.
