Just 24 hours after his deal with Sevilla FC of Spain was terminated, Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, has joined Scottish giant, Celtic on a one year contract, reports Business Today NG.

The club confirmed the signing of the 28-year-old Nigerian international through a statement issued on its official website late on the evening of Tuesday.
“Celtic Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Kelechi Iheanacho on a one-year deal, subject to international clearance, with the club having the option of a further year,” the club said.
The payer arrives on a free transfer, with the Scottish champions inserting an option for an additional year.
With this development, Iheanacho will reunites with Brendan Rodgers, under whom he enjoyed the most prolific season of his career at Leicester City, scoring 19 goals in all competitions during their FA Cup-winning 2020–21campaign.
Iheanacho arrival comes after criticism from supporters over the club’s failure to sign a forward before transfer deadline day.
Iheanacho, a former Golden Eaglets player kick-started his professional football career at Manchester City, where he won the League Cup in 2016, before making over 200 appearances for Leicester.
During his stay with the club, the player lifted the FA Cup with the Foxes in 2021 and later joined Sevilla in 2024, finishing last season on loan at Middlesbrough.
Iheanacho on international stage has earned 58 caps for Super Eagles of Nigeria and was part of the squad that finished runners-up at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
