BY SUNDAY SAMUEL-The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on Tuesday confirmed that one of its C-130 transport aircraft made a precautionary landing in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, after the crew detected a technical issue while en route to Portugal on December 8, 2025.
A statement issued by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, noted that the aircraft had departed Lagos when the crew observed a technical concern that required an immediate diversion to the nearest suitable airfield, in line with international aviation safety protocols.
The statement further said all crew members are safe and have received “cordial treatment” from Burkina Faso authorities. He added that arrangements are already in progress for the continuation of the ferry mission.
The Nigerian Air Force appreciates the cooperation received during this period and assures the public of its unwavering commitment to strict operational procedures and safety standards, ensuring the wellbeing of its personnel while discharging its constitutional responsibilities.
