Three days after a fire outbreak at the Great Nigeria Insurance building on Martin Street, Lagos Island, three bodies have been recovered.
A casualty report issued by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed that the deceased consist of one adult female and two males, all retrieved from the collapsed structure.
The report also noted that eight males, including a firefighter, sustained varying degrees of injuries and were treated at the hospital before being discharged. In addition, three males and two females with minor injuries received first aid at the scene and were subsequently released.
Search and rescue operations remain ongoing, with LASEMA Response Teams working alongside NEMA, the Red Cross, and the Lagos State Government Fire and Rescue Service to locate other victims believed to be trapped in the building.
