It seems the war between two famous Nollywood actresses- Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin, is far from over as the former has vowed to pursue fresh legal action against her colleague, Anjorin over alleged defamatory remarks and threats to her family.
The bitter rivalry between the duo marked by police petitions, lawsuits and online hostilities, remains one of Nollywood’s most contentious public feuds.
The latest court threat by Iyabo Ojo comes months after the Lagos State High Court, Osborne Division, throws out her N1bn defamation suit against Anjorin, citing procedural irregularities, and ordered her lawyer, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay N500,000 in costs to Anjorin’s counsel, Ademola Olabiyi.
The duo have been at war with each which , which has surfaced across social media and the courts.
Anjorin, in several Facebook live streams, has repeatedly attacked Ojo, eliciting a wave of parody videos on TikTok and Facebook.
Ojo in a lengthy post on Instagram page on Monday, said she had been silent on legal advice but confirmed her legal team is documenting all remarks.
“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything. A wise person listens to learned counsel. Everything has its timing,” she wrote.
While admitting that some of the parody videos amused her, Ojo expressed concern over the impact of Anjorin’s curses and alleged threats on her family.
“The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking.
“Most times, I struggle to hold my peace, but I choose to ignore the distractions. Who God has blessed, no one can curse,” the actress said, just as he also added that her focus in recent months had been on welcoming her first grandchild and supporting her daughter, but hinted she would take firmer steps once she returned to Lagos.
The war between the both actresses escalated after Ojo alleged that Anjorin should be held responsible if anything happened to her or her family.
The claim followed a fire incident at Ojo’s Lagos office, which her daughter, Priscilla, linked to ongoing threats, including a letter received in May alleging their movements were being monitored.
According to Ojo that her war with Anjorin kick-started after she publicly expressed support for Folashade Tinubu, the wife of Anjorin’s husband, which she said triggered a wave of attacks and accusations.
