The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA), on Monday confirmed that Ethiopian Airlines has settled penalties related to breaches of consumer protection rules, following complaints over passenger service standards.
Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection at the NCAA, disclosed this via its official X Account formerly called twitter, that with the payment, all three international airlines sanctioned by the Authority in 2025 have now complied fully.
The NCAA had earlier this year sanctioned three international airlines for various infractions bordering on poor customer service and violation of passenger rights.
The statement reads: “I am also glad to announce that Ethiopian Airways has finally paid the sanction fees imposed on the airline by the NCAA for consumer protection-related infractions earlier this year.
“By this, all three international airlines sanctioned by the Authority have fully paid.
“As always, these sanctions are intended to help improve the services of the operators and not to punish them.”
He assured that NCAA committed to protecting the rights of all stakeholders.
