The Lagos State Police Command has invited Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, in connection with allegations of multiple rape, other sexual offences, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.
According to statement released by SP Abimbola Adebisi, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, thatbPastor Okafor is expected to appear before th Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID, Panti, by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026. The invitation letter was duly served on him through his legal representative.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the allegations, directing the DC SCID to handle the matter thoroughly and professionally. The police stated that the investigation covers alleged capital offences and other serious crimes.
CP Jimoh has also directed that adequate security and protection be provided for alleged victims and has encouraged them to come forward to report their cases at the SCID, Panti, where investigations have already commenced.
The Police Command assured that the identities of all victims and witnesses will be kept strictly confidential and protected. Members of the public who may have been affected or who possess credible information or evidence relevant to the investigation have been urged to come forward without fear. Such information may be reported through the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command or directly at the SCID.
Reiterating the Command’s position, the Commissioner of Police assured the public that the investigation will be conducted in a transparent, unbiased, and professional manner, in accordance with the law.
The Lagos State Police Command emphasized its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring that all allegations of criminal conduct are thoroughly investigated, irrespective of the status or position of the individuals involved, stressing that justice will be allowed to take its full course.
