PenCom Inaugurates PENCARE Board Of Trustees, Appoints Ahmad As Chairman

BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—The National Pension Commission,(PenCom),has inaugurated the Board of Trustees for PENCARE (The Pension Industry Health Care Initiative).

The board which was inaugurated by the Director General of PenCom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, will be chaired by M. K. Ahmad, the pioneer DG of PenCom.

According to the commission, PenCare is a landmark healthcare programme designed to ensure retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) have access to quality healthcare.

Driven by the policy direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, PenCare reinforces Nigeria’s commitment to protecting both the financial security and well-being of retirees.

The Board of Trustees is chaired by M. K. Ahmad, the pioneer DG of PenCom. It will provide strategic oversight, accredit healthcare partners, ensure accountability, and strengthen service delivery for retirees.

PenCom remains committed to a pension system that invests not only in funds  but in people safeguarding dignity, care, and comfort in retirement.
