The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the successful rescue and safe return of all students of Nasarawa State University who were abducted.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, the achievement was made possible through the dedication, professionalism, and determination displayed by security operatives.
The statement noted that the rescued students have since reunited with their families and are currently receiving medical care and other necessary assistance.
It further revealed that following sustained intelligence-driven operations and coordinated tactical actions involving the Command and other security agencies, two suspected kidnappers connected to the incident were arrested. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the criminal group.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended members of the public for their cooperation and timely information, which greatly aided the success of the operation.
